iPad: They did it again…

Posted on 27 March 2010 by Dopman

Hell yea, Steve Jobs and Apple did it again with the iPad. With this whole wave of netbooks surging at the end of 2009, Apple went ahead and did what they do when it comes to making new shit better. On April 3, Apple will unleash it’s 7.47″ x 9.56″ fully touchscreen iPad onto the world. Weighing in at only 1.5 lbs and being only .5″ thick, the iPad looks and acts like a super sized iTouch, which there’s nothing bad about any of that. The iPad allows for a larger viewing surface when it comes to the 100,000s of apps developed for the iPhone. There’s no more squinting to see movies on your iPhone. There’s no more misspelling words when typing emails or surfing the web, simply because everything is bigger, baby! The first model to be launched will be the Wifi in 16, 32, and 64 gigabyte capacities. This Wifi only model has a 1024 x 768 resolution display, with a 1Ghz A4 processor. Later in April, Apple will release the WIFI + 3G model, which with a $30 data plan from AT&T, will be just as blazing on the net as the iPhone. Only a few questions remain on the release though, ie, will there be a camera on the iPad? Many of us are hoping that we won’t have to wait until the 2nd generation to find out. With a week to go until the official launch date, the best to bet to insure that you have one in hand is by pre-ordering an iPad at www.apple.com. The cheapest iPad is the Wifi 16GB for $499. When the 3G models hit, they will start at $629. Don’t expect and iPhone line, but do expect a bit of a rush. Now, get your Apple on kids!

Ease of the Internet

Posted on 12 January 2010 by Dopman

It’s 2010, and the best way to get it started is going to integrate your tv and the entire web. Boxee is a device that enables you to watch anything thats online on your big screen 47″ flat panel tv. There’s no more having to sit in your tired old wood office chair or beat up box crate in order to enjoy Netflix, Hulu, Fancaste and Youtube.
Pretty much, Boxee is an XBox without the ability to play games. Supposedly ready to be jumped off in the 1st quarter of 2010, Boxee will be right around $200, which is really almost half way to an XBox anyways, but who’s penchin’ pennies these days, huh? You’ll be able to get Boxee right off http://www.boxee.tv !!!

Adobe Flash for your Phone?

Posted on 05 October 2009 by Dopman

With all the revolutionary visuals and sound options you have while browsing the web, most of these things are based off of Adobe Flash.  At the Adobe Max Convention, they recently announced that they will have Flash running on 19 of the top 20 Smart Phones.  Unfortunately, the Iphone OS has limitations that currently doesn’t allow the Flash application to run.

Check out this video to see what the Future of Mobile Internet Browsing will be…

Win a $100 Gift Certificate to Blatz Liquor

Posted on 23 September 2009 by Joe

blatzpic

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who participated in our August sales promotion. The winners got to try some great beers and meet people from some of the best breweries in the country. Since it was such a great success I figured we better do something else! Particularly since the results of that were better than that of any of the media I paid for AAAAAND it didn’t cost me anything. Not only that, but “mainstream advertising” costs more than my frickin’ mortgage payment so when faced with the choices… a) pay my mortgage or b) pay for some advertising, you can guess I take option A. So this time we’re going to switch it up a bit and its not going to cost YOU anything. It’s only going to cost ME something! Seems fair right?!

So here it is… The two people who send in the most new customers to buy something, and sign up for our email list will each get a $100 Gift Certificate to spend at Blatz Liquor. I don’t care what they buy, but I can’t put them in as a customer without a transaction, and I doubt people are going to go out of their way to buy a pack of gum. Here is all the need to say.. “I was referred by (your name here) and would like to sign up on your customer list.” At that point they can start referring too!

A few rules: They have to be NEW customers! The 2 winners need to bring in at least 8 people (Thats less then 2 a week). Also you DO NOT have to be with them when they stop in!! You saw the DO NOOOT part right? And it ends at 9 PM October 31st.

BMW X6 xDrive 50i

Posted on 14 September 2009 by James Tucker

BMW1

Clubber Lane was the meanest mofo to hit the ring when he appeared opposite of Rocky Balboa in “Rocky  III.”  Recently we’ve seen some resurgence of mean looking American made muscle cars such as the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, and Ford Mustang put into production. Seriously nothing on the streets right now is meaner, beastier and sexier than the BMW X6 small SUV truck.  First seen in Milwaukee at the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show Gala in February, the X6 stole the show on the 1st level with the intense lines and dramatic i-Robot shape.  It wasn’t but a matter of time before the sexiest machine next to Koenigsegg CCX was pumped out by the best luxury driving machine company – BMW.
BMW5BMW2
The BMW x6  boasts a 4.4-liter, 32-valve turbocharged 400-hp V-8 engine with twin-turbo technology.  The x6 comes in two different types, the 30i and 50i.  The smaller 35i gets an estimated 20 mpg with a 300 horsepower engine with a base MSRP of $55,900.  The 50i produces more horsepower (400hp), but gets an estimated 18 miles per gallon boooo.  The price for 50i plus a hefty $66,650, but some damn good luxury and style comes with all of the costs.
BMW3
The official MKE Wired priced out BMW x6 50i comes out to be $89,740 not including taxes and shipping.  With that we’d be catching Black Sapphire Metallic, Black Nevada Leather and Ash grain wood trim all for $0.  BMW starts to tax with the cold weather package ($1,250) and the comfort access keyless entry($1,000). Of course we like to get our swag on to the max so we added the Premium Package for $2,200 including Digital compass mirror, Storage package, Universal Garage Door Opener, Ambient light package, BMW Assist, Automatic tailgate opening and closing.

All of that is well in good, except for the fact we would have to have the ipod configuration, with hi-fi system and 6 disc changer for another $2,000. Add in the Sport Package ($3,200), Head Up Display($1,200), Soft Close Automatic Doors($600), HD Radio($350), and 21″ Double Spoke 215 Black Wheel Set ($6,495) then yes we would have the meanest car on the block.

Right, now the Porsche Cayenne S is the closest luxury small suv in the class that could match up to the x6 xDrive 50i. However the Cayenne S is old, doned and out of swag points. The 2010 Cadillac SRX is the newest American beast ready to match the X6, but without the hearty German guts to propel it fast enough down Milwaukee St. The BMW x6 xDrive 50i is the one and only champ of small suvs on Milwaukee streets right now. Do what you have to do to get one of these and your status will be none other than Baller.

Free Stuff From 2 Of Your Favorite Milwaukee Businesses!

Posted on 18 August 2009 by Joe

I the past weeks Joe (@ajbombers) and I (@blatzliquor) couldn’t help but notice how many customers we shared but not always on the same day. Seeing as how we are located so close to each other (I throw my empties at his front door) we decided maybe we just need to motivate you folks a little! soo… we hatched a little plan..

Blatz Liquor & AJ Bombers would like to present to you our “Burgers & Beers” program.

Now when you get your beer (wine/liquor) from Blatz Liquor and bring the receipt from that day to AJ Bombers you get a free side of sweet potato chips. If you go to AJ Bombers first and bring your receipt from that day into Blatz Liquor you get 2 free beers from our “build your own 6 pack cooler.”

Its pretty sweet we know.. but we’re pretty cool guys and figured there had to be a way to thank everyone out there for their continued support. What better way than free beer and free chips?!

So starting today August 1st through August 31st the two customers who spend the most will be invited to join me! All you have to do is sign up in our database at your first purchase and remember to tell whoever is working when you come in throughout the month to enter that transaction under your name. Pretty simple right?! Good! Now get in here and get a good head start. If you don’t already follow me on twitter you should, I’ll periodically update the standings there (@blatzliquor).

Point Nude Beach Summer Wheat

Posted on 30 July 2009 by Joe

This time we grabbed a beer from the 5th oldest continuously operating brewery remaining in the United States, Point Brewery. You only have a few more weeks left to grab this guy, the brewery stops putting it out July 31st!

This is an unfiltered wheat ale that is well balanced using “au naturel” raw and red wheat, then finished with Yakima hops. Its got a pretty weak head but a nice golden color. Its a little light on the wheat beer side, you could definitely put several of them back in one sitting.

For the price its a good deal, plus you get a sweet label with a bunch of implied nudity! :)
